Workspace Settings
Goal: Name your workspace, decide whether Azi may apply its own changes, or archive it.
Open Workspace -> Settings. The window, titled Workspace Settings, opens with an overview of the workspace - its name (or Untitled Workspace), description and ID - and Manage Team Members, which opens Team Members.
Name and description
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Workspace Name | The name everyone sees |
| Description | A short description |
Save Changes is enabled once you change something. It saves the workspace, like the canvas Save - together with any canvas edits you have not saved yet. The change is written for everyone at once, and nothing waits for Deploy. If the save is refused, the window shows the reason, or "The workspace settings were not saved."
Greenfield
The Greenfield section has one switch, Let Azi apply its own changes (Greenfield). "When this is off,
nobody in this workspace sees the Greenfield toggle, and every Azi change waits for a person to accept it."
Only the workspace owner or someone with Workspace.Access.Manage can change it; everyone else sees it
disabled, with the reason: "Only the workspace owner or someone with the 'Workspace.Access.Manage' right can
change this setting." While the window reads your rights, it says "Checking who can change this setting."
The switch saves at once, apart from Save Changes and your canvas edits, and does not wait for Deploy. The window answers "Greenfield is off for this workspace. Open workspace tabs show the change after a reload." (or "on"). If the change is refused, the window shows the reason, or "Greenfield was not changed." A proposal cannot change this setting. See Greenfield.
There is no Mode types section. A workbench offers the modes its package declares, so a custom mode needs no workspace setting; see Custom Modes.
Archive the workspace
Archive Workspace opens Archive '(name)'?, which reads from the server what archiving would do and lists it under What Archive does, with anything that blocks it. Then:
- Kept, and can be recovered: "The workspace configuration is kept. It moves to Archived workspaces in Manage Workspaces."
- Also erase secrets permanently (cannot be undone): an option. Left off, a Key Vault that archiving deletes can come back with its secrets, at the first Deploy after a restore, within 90 days of the archive. Erased, it does not come back: every secret must be entered again.
- Archive workspace confirms. If you are in this workspace, you are switched to another first.
Restoring is in Manage Workspaces. What Archive tore down is not restored with it: the next Deploy builds it again from the configuration.
The Fathym workspace has no Archive Workspace; it cannot be archived.
Rights
Saving the name and description is an ordinary workspace save. The Greenfield switch and archiving
need the owner or Workspace.Access.Manage; without it, the Greenfield switch is disabled, What Archive does
cannot be read and the archive is refused.
Azi and agents
None of these settings is a record kind Azi or an agent proposes; they are set by a person here.
