Getting a Panel Back

Every panel can be closed, and every panel has a way back. Nothing in a panel is lost when it closes: it comes back showing what it showed. Every panel you have open comes back after a reload, and a layout you apply keeps it open (see Layouts).

To dock a panel that came back floating, drag its title bar to where you want it, or open its menu and choose a place from Move to.

To put the whole workspace back the way it started, choose Workspace > Layouts > Default. The notice that follows has Undo if you change your mind.

A panel that is maximised

When one panel is maximised it fills the workspace and the others are out of sight. Double-click its title bar, choose Restore from its menu, or press Shift+Space to put every panel back exactly as it was. Clicking a node or choosing a panel from View restores the workspace first, so the panel you asked for is never hidden behind a maximised one.

A panel that is collapsed

A panel on a side or along the bottom can be collapsed to a thin strip of icons. Press the panel's icon on the strip to open it again.
